Based on the television show, Thomas the Train toys are a favorite for many children age two to three years. The most common toys are the trains with wooden tracks, which grow in complexity with a child’s increasing skills. The most basic designs are an oval and figure-8, but, once a child gets used to settling patterns with the train tracks, more complex designs with hills, curves, and bridges are available. Some of these specialized tracks are A Day at the Works, Lift and Load, and Down by the Docks, each with a theme and pieces related to the television show.
